I have twin grandchildren. Twins are special. Grandchildren are special. I take thousands of pictures of them. This quilt comes out of a fight over a stick. We were outside on a gorgeous spring day and the little girl picked up the stick. Her brother wanted it. So he walked along with her, played along with her and when she put it down he swooped it up and said “It’s my stick”. That is why he was smiling in the photo I took and she was not. It begged to become a quilt. The work is constructed of commercial and hand dyed fabrics and machine stitching. It was an early attempt at creating faces. Free motion quilting completes the work.
